Since 1966, where it all began

WESTVILLE THEATRE CLUB WAS FOUNDED IN 1966 WITH A CLEAR PURPOSE: TO PROMOTE THE ARTS WITHIN THE WESTVILLE COMMUNITY.

That history of Westville Theatre Club is part of what makes it special. This is not a theatre that simply appeared in Westville. It was built by theatre people, for theatre people, and supported by generations of people who believed that live performance belonged in their community.

Since 1966, where it all began

WESTVILLE THEATRE CLUB WAS FOUNDED IN 1966 WITH A CLEAR PURPOSE: TO PROMOTE THE ARTS WITHIN THE WESTVILLE COMMUNITY.

From the beginning, WTC was built around participation. It was not simply a place to watch theatre. It was a place to make it.

The club created opportunities for local people to get involved in every part of a production, from acting and directing to costumes, sets, lighting, sound and backstage work. That community-driven approach remains at the heart of WTC today.

In 1972, WTC members helped build the little theatre beside the Westville Swimming Pool.

It was quite literally a community-built theatre, shaped by the people who performed in it and volunteered their time to keep it going.

That history is part of what makes WTC different.

This is not a theatre that simply appeared in Westville. It was built by theatre people, for theatre people, and supported by generations of people who believed that live performance belonged in their community.
